Easy Solutions To Simple Problems
Podcast

Today I got to sit down with Aram Grigorian, Owner and full-time health coach of 4week2thebeach.com, who helps folks achieve their desired body composition using experience and scientific evidence. Host of the Real Coaches Summit: the fitness industry’s only and best all-inclusive education and networking event.

This whole conversation kept circling back to one idea: most of the problems coaches are trying to sell as complicated are actually simple. Aram and I got into why the industry keeps manufacturing complexity to create necessity, what it really costs to chase a 50K month, and why telling people the truth about how hard the work is going to be is the most honest thing you can do as a coach. If you have ever felt like you needed a more complicated offer to be taken seriously, this one is going to push back on that.

Key Quote

"We're not fixing $ 800-a-month problems. We're fixing $ 7-day problems." -Aram Grigorian

Five Core Themes

  1. The business education gap. Coaches get trained in biomechanics, physiology, and nutrition, then handed a business and told to figure it out with no real roadmap, leaving a void that gets filled with quick-to-10K hype.

  2. Selling complexity to create necessity. Aram's stance on the functional health space is that most of what people are paying premium prices to solve are basic lifestyle problems, and dressing them up as complex is a disservice.

  3. Reliable revenue beats vanity numbers. The 100K month that is followed by eleven months of zero is a trap. Aram wants money coming in regularly because it goes out regularly.

  4. Coaching is a mentorship, not a service. You teach people the skills, but they still have to do the work. Selling it as a done-for-you service misrepresents what coaching actually is.

  5. Authenticity is the whole game. Stop selling bullshit, set honest expectations up front, and you self-select an audience and client base that actually wants to do the work.

Main Take-Home Message

Stop manufacturing complexity and selling people a fantasy. The coaches who last are the ones who simplify the problem, tell the truth about how hard the work is going to be, and build everything (their content, their offer, their intake, their service) in alignment with who they actually are.
