"Hey, you liked my post, are you looking for a coach?"
"Hey, I see you answered 'Fat Loss' in my poll. I'd love to coach you towards that goal"
For the love of all that is good in this world please STOP DOING THIS!
As coaches, the number one asset that we have is our ability to form relationships. No, it's not sets and reps, it's not fat loss physiology, and it sure as heck isn't biomechanics. Sure, those things help, but the number one thing that will allow you to drive results with those you work with is your ability to coach the person and not the program.
This starts the first time you speak to someone and never ends.
Something I teach to all my mentees who are looking at increasing customer acquisition is to provide as much value as possible to everyone you can. This is through social media, email, and especially in 1on1 communication in person and online. Help people solve problems and they'll always come to you for the answers. Not to mention, if you show that you genuinely care, which you should, they will WANT to work with you and you won't actually ever have to sell anyone anything.
Find out about people's journeys, their wins, losses and barriers. Find out what they enjoy and see if you can find a way to help them to do more of those things. You've got the tools, so use them.
This will allow that person to see that you're invested in them, they will trust you and eventually they will buy your services. Sales and selling is all about relationships. This comes up almost every episode of the CCU Podcast - the people who sell the most, provide the most value and invest into building relationships.
So, the next time you slide in someone's DMs, first try to add some value and when it feels organic and you feel like they trust you, offer to hop on a call so you can keep helping them - I can almost guarantee you'll be able to sell them coaching just by showing them you care and you want to help.
Trust me, I've built my entire business and brand around this practice.
If you need help with this, don't forget, my business mastermind is open for registration now. The CCU Study Group Mastermind is a group mentorship where I help you navigate these barriers and help you build the business you've always wanted.
