In the latest episode of the CCU podcast, I sit down with Carly McInnis. Carly McInnis is a registered physiotherapist working out of Calgary and a coach with Team MAP. Previously a competitive powerlifter, she has shifted her focus to competing in Olympic Weightlifting. Her love of strength training drives her main thought process that an injury shouldn't fully inhibit someone from training hard or doing what they love. There is strength in rehab, each one fuelling the other -- you rehab things to get stronger, you get stronger to rehab things.
We Discuss:
Carly’s Journey
North American vs European model of rehab
Active vs passive modalities
Creating an integrated approach
The emotional and intellectual aspect of injury recovery
Runways of progressions
The spectrum of Rehab and training
